Nobody else will go. You're the rescue. The machine is barely holding together, the odds are bad, and someone out there is still calling.

The third story is out — Oxygen Masks
The third story in the Nine Responding cycle. An escape capsule has lost its course, with a few hours of oxygen left. The story is out in full, with three illustrations.
The first donation
Egor donated $10 — the first donation the project has received, and I'm grateful for it. It makes a paid narration engine possible to try: some readers spoke up for keeping the audio stories going, even if they aren't perfect. I'll voice the next story on the paid neural engine.
Packet Age now has an English audio version
The second story now has an English audio version — the player is at the top of the story page. Both stories so far are read by a neural voice, and some stresses and intonations land wrong. Besides, your e-reader or browser can read any page aloud on its own, so a machine reading adds little. This is the last one: from story 03 on, the stories come out as text, and if readers want the cycle read by a human narrator, a fundraiser will open for it. The question is open on r/NineResponding.
Game demo coming soon
The Nine Responding game is the same world as the stories — only this time you're the one behind the wheel. On the edge of settled space, a distress call comes in from an empty planet. The big ships can't land there — it's too dangerous. The only way in is the rover: an old six-wheeled machine on long legs, barely holding together.
